Culture and Religion Of Thailand

Apart from having fascinating history, Thailand have rich culture and religion. Culture of Thailand have flavor of Chinese culture. Culture Of Thailand is highly influenced by Buddhism. Majority of Thai people follow Buddhism of Theravada tradition.


A Theravada which is an oldest form of Buddhism that was originally developed in India and is based on four noble truths that Lord Buddha had realized in order to become enlightened.Muslim , Christian and Hindu followed in minority.


Religion play a very important role in day-to-day life of Thai people.Thai temples known as wats, resplendent with gold and easily identifiable with their ornate.Till 2004 their where more than 40,000 temples (wats)in Thailand.Thailand is very religious Country even Lifestyle of Thailand is highly influenced by its tradition.

Majority of people visit the temple regularly for meditation and sessions of chanting from the texts. Meditation is done for self relaxation.The temple takes a prominent place within the local community of Thailand. It even provides necessary services as well as being the main place of worship where people will go to pay respects to the Buddha and receive the blessing of monks.


Culture of Thailand is also influenced Asia and Western Culture. Tourist of Thailand can observe combination of both ancient and modern culture.Many Hotel with modern as well as ancient theme are developed for tourist facilities.
